This drum features an original Ludwig Tango drum shell from 1919 that has been outfitted with modern hardware by Martial Percussion. While boldly drilling mounting holes into a century-old steam-bent shell might seem crazy, the result is a sound like no other. The birds-eye maple outer ply on the solid, steam- bent mahogany shell has been preserved and enhanced by the brass hardware. This snare provides the vintage vibe of early shells with the attack and control of modern drums.

Also included are 30 individual velocity samples with 5 different velocities containing 3 round robins each: one set of 15 files for All Mics, and one set of 15 for only Room Mics (excludes the close mics 1-5 below). This allows you to easily create MIDI files and/or trigger replacements.  You can also use the Room Mic-only velocity files for layering or creating a unique sound enhanced by our incredible drum tracking room.
