Select the new Snare Sample MIDI track.
Change the Input on the track from Drum Kit to Q-Sampler.
Click Load Audio File… next to the RECORDER button, or drag-n-drop a Drum Sound Studios snare sample onto the center window - drop it on the right-side so it’s Optimized. If you browsed to Load the file, after you load the sample, click the small settings icon in uppoer right and choose Reimport Optimized.
Click ONE SHOT button and drag a fade-out on the sample using the gray upper right fade bar. Change the Root Key to D 1 (standard for snare) by clicking on the key and dragging up or down.
You now have a separate MIDI track with your Drum Sound Studios snare sample loaded. You can blend the sound into your drum track by adjusting the levels in the mixer. Note that the original velocities remain intact.
If you want to replace the stock snare sound, you can edit the original MIDI file and delete the snare notes D 1 and E 1. Alternatively, you can click the piano note in the MIDI editor for each and decrease the velocity. This allows the original session drummer notes to remain, but at a lower volume.
You can repeat this process to add multiple copies of the Snare Sample track and blend additional snare samples for a truly unique sound.
