2003 Leedy Broadway Thunderbolt Samples
One of One Made ...
Fred Gretsch sold Slingerland to the Gibson company in 1994, but Gretsch retained ownership of the Leedy brand. Recognizing the value and prestige of the Leedy name, Gretsch has taken carefully measured steps in bringing Leedy back into the marketplace, starting with the first few drums at the 2002 NAMM show where they were enthusiastically received. For the 2003 NAMM show, Gretsch made 25 Leedy snare drums, including a single Black Nickel over Brass Broadway model. This is that drum. It was gold-plated and engraved by John Aldridge, making it even more unique. Incredible tone.
