This century-old drum was built in late 1928 and the first to wear the Ludwig & Ludwig badge widely introduced in 1929. From the 1928 Ludwig Catalog: “The hoops are hard maple, in natural finish with 16 nickel-plated thumb rods, patented Ludwig professional strainer and muffler, and best calf heads and choice snares.” Deep, dark, wonderful tones.

Shell: Solid Mahogany (steam bent)
Batter Head: William Ludwig Selected Calfskin
Resonant Head: Walberg & Auge Calfskin
Snares: Snare Gut (sold in 20 foot coils)

‣ Batter = 190 Hz
‣ Resonant = 195 Hz

Included with purchase are 10 24-bit Sample Files with a sample rate of 48kHz, and 1 Roland SPD-SX compatible file (16-bit, 44.1kHz), all professionally tracked with 24 mics in our new South Studio designed specifically for drums.
